“Sahih” Imam al-Bukhari enjoys unquestioned authority in the Muslim world. All Hadiths included in this collection are authentic, and he was the first of the collections compiled on a thematic basis, and his contemporaries were recognized as an outstanding guide to fiqh. Despite the fact that the more than seven thousand Hadiths included in the Sahih are only a small part of the material that Al-Bukhari has verified, they are quite impressive in volume and therefore not very convenient for practical use. In this regard, several abbreviated versions (muhtasar) of this compilation were compiled in different ways, one of which is the most successful variant recognized by Imam Ahmad b. ‘Abd al-Latif al-Zabidi. In this variant, the hadadah, chapter titles, and almost all repeated hadiths were reduced, resulting in a total of 2134.
The translation of this work, proposed in this book, fully corresponds to the abbreviated version of the Sahih by Imam al-Zabidi, keeping, however, the breakdown into chapters - for ease of reference. In addition, this edition contains a large number of comments from the books of such Islamic scholars as Ibn Hajjar, al-Kastallani, al-Aini, al-Nawawi, al-Urami, al-Qurtubi, and others.
